The history of September (Summary)

The word September was derived from "septem", that means seven in Latin, but September is the ninth month of calendar. The reason is because September was the seventh month in the Old Roman calendar, that started in March, when the Romans was living under the rules of Julio Cesar. After the Julian calendar reform, our calendar was shifted by two months, starting now in January, 1. This way, September became the ninth month of the calendar, and one of only four months with 30 days.

wet weather events

Different of some countries, the Brazil's weather changes for each region. In Brazil, we have five climatic groups, or five regions with similar weather, but one shared weather event are the rainstorms. Meanwhile, the rainstorms happens in different moments for each climatic group, like in the northeast and north regions, when the rainstorms happen on the summer, or in the southeast, who occurs on the winter. Actually, the rainstorm is not the problem, but what happen if still raining for a long time. The two principal problems are floods and landslides. The first of them, can cause damages to cars in streets, and in houses on low areas. Also, how some people leave their trash in the roads, many of them goes to hospitals with health problems. The second one is the landslides, when the rain doesn't stop for many days, large pieces of land become "soft" and collapse, houses and other buildings near of that areas are destroyed and people died inside their own house. For example, in a Brazilian city called Nova Friburgo in 2011, a huge landslide killed 417 people, and is not difficult find other cases with the same consequences. Finally, other accidents are caused by rainstorms, like car accidents because of wet streets or mist, and stressing situations like go to work while a rainstorm is happening, but if you don't need go out of your home: excellent! a rainstorm is the best weather event to stay sleeping on home.

The violent Lappet-Faced Vulture

The Lappet-Faced Vulture or Nubian Vulture is a mostly African Old World vulture, but they are separated into two subspecies, the first one lives in the Sinai and in the Negev desert, and the other one in north-west Saudi Arabia. The lappet-faced vulture is a scavenging bird, eating animal carcasses and their predator is their own specie, because one vulture watches to another, waiting their die. Also, the Lappet-Faced Vulture looks like a eagle (they are from the same bird order), and it is a huge bird, classified  as the longest and largest winged vulture (wingspan, the distance between the wing tips,  of 2.5–2.9 m), and usually they're black, brown and white. Finally, a interesting fact about the Lappet-Faced Vulture are, different to others birds, they're generally solitary birds. They do not nest in cohesive colonies as do many smaller vultures and they're really violent so, stay away for safety.

My city ten years from now

As many cities in Brazil, my city is a small city, and if the number of people living in my city, just ten years from now be increased twice, we will have some problems and maybe we need to follow some steps to solve them but, which kind of good things will be happen? First, the number of children needing to play will be increased and the prefecture will spend more money in parks and recreation areas. Then, that children will be tired and will need some food. We will have more hospitals to take care the health of the children's grandma  and make sure who that grandmas will still doing cakes and cookies to their grandchildren. When the children go back to their homes, their parents will still waiting after a long workday but before, how a small city don't have a lot of places to work, the children's parents will need to work far of their homes, and maybe in other cities. The streets will be good to drive, and the children's parents will turn on the radio in their cars and will hear the better musics of year during all their travel time. Finally, backing to the children's houses, the TV channels will show new novels and animations to help children's parents with the hard work to put their children in the bed and wait for the ''sleep time''. In other words, this was just a step-by-step of how a common day will be in the future on my city: a normal day but with the future things. If my city try to do things to solve the population problems while the number of people grow up, in ten years we will have problems like today, and different kind of people to solve them. For now, I'm thinking about a good future, and how twice of the people who lives today can be good.
